AIRLINE TRANSPORT PILOT CERTIFICATION

The Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) course is designed for the experienced helicopter pilot who wishes to take their ratings to the highest level. This course will provide the student with the ground and flight experience necessary to successfully complete the requirements for an ATP certificate.

Enrollment Prerequisites                  

  • At least 23 years of age

  • FAA first-class medical certificate

  • Read, speak, write and understand English

  • Commercial Pilot Certificate - Helicopter

  • Instrument Rating

 

FAA Requirements for ATP Certificate

Total Flight Time: 1,200 hours 

   

Comprising of at least:

  • 500 hours cross-country

  • 100 hours of night with at least 15 hours in helicopters

  •  Included in above at least 5 hours in night VFR conditions with at least 10 takeoffs and 10 landings.

  • 200 hours in helicopters with at least 75 hours as pilot-in-command

  • 75 hours of instrument time of which 50 were completed in-flight with at least 25 in helicopters

 

 

      Included in above:

 

  • Pass an FAA written examination
  • Pass an FAA oral and flight test

Students are generally able to fly year round out of our Garland, TX location, due to its mild weather. This means SKY is flexible to meet a student's busy schedule, and move them along at their pace.
