The demand for new helicopter pilots continues to grow. Future SKY Helicopter pilots will be
expected to work in highly technical and competitive environments on a daily basis and have
responsibility for operating state-of-the-art equipment.

To help meet these needs in the Helicopter Industry, Sky Helicopters has teamed up with Utah Valley State College to provide pilot instruction towards any of three degree programs. 

Utah Valley State College Global Aviation Program offers three different degree options: Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science and Bachelor of Science in Aviation Professional Pilot. All Degree programs require completion of the Commercial Pilot Certificate.

 Degrees available:

Associate in Applied Science
The Associate in Applied Science degree prepares the student by concentrating on aviation courses. The addition of co-op work experience will also provide the student with first-hand experience in the field. This degree only requires the minimum of general education courses to qualify for graduation and also allows the student to matriculate into the B.S. degree.
Total credits required to graduate: 64


Associate in Science
The Associate in Science degree is designed to prepare the student with all the ratings necessary to be qualified for entry-level jobs in the aviation field. Receiving an associate degree helps the graduate be prepared for a diversity of job-related responsibilities, will provide the student with a diversity of classes for a broad base for future possibilities and prepare the student for the B.S. degree.

Bachelor of Science in Aviation
Professional Pilot
The Bachelor of Science degree will prepare students to enter the work force as a professional pilot at an intermediate to advanced level. The program builds upon the AAS and A.S. degrees offered by UVSC in Aviation Science. The program consists of 45 semester hours of lower division courses (which include requirements for the AAS in Aviation Science), 36 hours of general education and 40 hours of upper division professional pilot courses.

SKY Helicopters Flight Academy

SKY Helicopters’ Professional Pilot Instructor Program Includes:
 

  • Private License
  • Commercial License
  • Instrument Rating
  • Certified Flight Instructor Rating
  • Certified Instrument Flight Instructor
  • Books and Materials

Ground Instruction is unlimited and even your online degree courses are available at SKY’s training center. One-on-one tutoring is available as needed at no extra charge as long as progress and attendance requirements are met. Flight training is conducted in both the Robinson R22 and Schweizer 300CB Helicopters. Robinson R44 transition training is also included in our career program. SKY’s FAA approved flight training simulator improves proficiency and enhances the total learning experience.

Our program exceeds minimum flight time requirements, providing every student with additional hands-on experience.
